Sunny Grove Park Utilities Extension
Project (UEP) Construction

About The Project

Construction Begins!
The Village of Estero begins construction on a new sewer line to Sunny Grove Park. The Village’s contractor, Wright Construction Group, will be installing sewer lines from US 41/Tamiami Trail west along Sunny Grove’s southern property line. The new sewer line will be located in an approximate 20-foot-wide easement. The existing sewage
treatment plant will be decommissioned as part of the project. The new sewer facilities will be owned, operated, and maintained by Lee County Utilities.

What To Expect During Construction

Erosion control measures will be installed behind the homes on the south side of Lychee Lane, and the contractor will clear the area. Construction vehicles will access the site from the State Park property to minimize usage of Lychee Lane.

Please refer to the map below. If you live adjacent to the construction area, you may experience vibrations from the machinery, so it is suggested that you secure any fragile items on your walls or shelves. The contractor will have a dust control plan in place. There may be noise associated with this operation.

As part of construction, the existing sewer treatment facility will be demolished, and the area will be restored with grass. The pond that currently serves the treatment facility will also be filled in and landscaped.

The contractor will work Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., some weekend work may be required. The project is expected to be complete in late summer 2026.
