Construction Begins!
The Village of Estero begins construction on sewer and water connections to Cypress Bend RV Resort. The Village of Estero has been coordinating with members of the homeowners association (HOA). The contractor, Wright Construction Group, will bring water and sewer lines from Estero Parkway south to the eastern end of Cypress Bend Drive. The existing sewer lift station will be rehabilitated, and the old sewage treatment plant will be demolished. Once the sewer and water lines are hooked up to the existing mainlines, the Lee County Utilities will be responsible for managing the costs associated with the new system.

What To Expect During Construction
Erosion control measures are being installed and the contractor is clearing the area needed to install the sewer and water pipes. Once the clearing is complete, the contractor will perform directional drilling operations under Estero Parkway. Traffic will not be impacted during this operation. The remainder of the pipe installation will require digging separate trenches to place both the water and sewer pipes. This will be done in a two-phase operation, installing one pipe and covering it up then installing the other pipe and covering it up. This is necessary to obtain the required separation between the sewer and water pipes.

Please refer to the map on the right. If you live adjacent to the construction area, you may experience vibrations from the machinery, so it is suggested that you secure any fragile items on your walls or shelves. The contractor will have a dust control plan in place.

The existing lift station will be rehabilitated at the end of Cypress Bend Drive on the south side of the road. Across the railroad tracks, the sewer treatment package plant will be dismantled and both ponds filled-in, leaving a large grass area. There may be noise associated with this operation. The HOA will be contacting members about items stored in this area that must be removed.
