Sunny Grove Park
Utilities Extension
Project (UEP) Construction
About The Project
Construction Begins!
The Village of Estero begins construction on a new sewer line to Sunny Grove Park. The Village of Estero has been coordinating with members of the homeowners association (HOA) prior to the start of construction. The contractor, Wright Construction Group, will bring sewer lines from US 41/Tamiami Trail west to a new lift station being constructed. The new sewer line will be constructed in an approximate 20-foot-wide easement adjacent to and south of Sunny Grove Park. The existing sewer lift station will be replaced, and the old sewage treatment plant will be decommissioned. Once the sewer lines are hooked up to the existing mainline, Lee County Utilities will be responsible for maintenance of the new lift
station and force main out to US 41.
What To Expect During Construction
Erosion control measures will be installed along the 20-foot-wide easement behind the homes on the south side of Lychee Lane and the contractor will clear the area needed to install the sewer pipe. The pipe installation will require a directional drilling operation. Construction vehicles will primarily access the site from the State Park property to minimize usage of Lychee Lane.
Please refer to the map below. If you live adjacent to the construction area, you may experience vibrations from the machinery, so it is suggested that you secure any fragile items on your walls or shelves. The contractor will have a dust control plan in place. There may be noise associated with this operation.
The existing lift station on the south side of Lychee Lane will be converted to serve as a master manhole to direct sewage flows to the new lift station. The existing sewer treatment facility will be removed, and the area will be restored with grass. The pond that currently serves the treatment facility will also be filled in and landscaped. To support system improvements, Florida Power & Light (FPL) will install a new, three-phase power supply along the south property line, replacing the existing one.

The contractor will work Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., some weekend work may be required. The project is expected to be complete in late summer 2026.
